Bibb County Sheriff’s Traffic Investigators are investigating a traffic accident with injury that occurred on I-75 South near Sardis Church Road at around 2:00 p.m. It was reported that the pedestrian, 25 year old Johnny Daniel, had gotten out of the vehicle he was riding in after the driver pulled off the interstate, after Daniel wanted to get out. As Daniel was walking he darted out in front of traffic and was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Express Van traveling south on I-75. The van was driven by 49 year old Thomas Rubble.
Daniel was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
The accident is currently under investigation. No charges have been made at this time. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
