Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person shot Monday morning at around 7:45a.m. at the Magnolia Court Motel, located at 4739 Pionono Avenue. It was reported that 37 year old Rusty Dial, who stays at the motel, was sitting in a chair outside the motel with a gunshot wound when deputies arrived.
Dial said he was riding his bicycle on Broadway when he was shot. He reported he did not see anything or hear a gunshot. Dial was alert and talking with deputies at the scene. He was transported by ambulance to the Navicent Health Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Dial was struck in the back of the head near his neck. The wound did not appear to be life threatening and he is listed in stable condition.
Investigators are still talking with possible witnesses and the victim to determine if the shooting occurred as the victim first reported. No other information is available at this time.
