The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Shooting incident that occurred just after 6:00PM Friday evening in East Bibb. It was reported that the victim, 23 year old DeVontez Turner of Macon was standing in the alley across the street from Fort Hawkins Package Store located at 890 Emory Highway, when he heard a gunshot. Turner dropped to the ground, grabbing his left knee. He told Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators that a relative pulled up in the area in a vehicle just after the incident and drove Turner to the Coliseum Hospital.
Turner was shot once in the left leg. His injury is non-life threatening and he is listed in stable condition. He was transported from the Coliseum Hospital to the Navicent Center for further treatment. Turner reported that he did not know who shot him or where the shot came from.
