Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person shot Thursday night at around 7:30 p.m. at 2080 Melton Ave. It was reported that 67 year old Claria Jane Campbell, of Indiana was sitting in the living room of this address when a stray bullet came through the wall and, striking her in the left cheek. It is not known where the bullet came from. The round was possibly from someone firing a gun in the area.
Prior to Campbell being shot, calls of shots fired were received by Macon-Bibb E911 Dispatch. Campbell was transported by ambulance to the Navicent Health Hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injury. The injury is not life threatening.
