Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Liberty Inn Motel located at 4295 Pio Nono Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. Friday night in reference to a person shot. The 26 year old male victim, Sammie Montgomery, reported that a male he only knew as “Shaun” came to his room and began talking with the victim. As the two were talking, two more men entered the room and demanded money from Montgomery. As the men were attempting to rob the victim, one of the men discharged a gun, striking Montgomery in the buttocks. According to Montgomery, the two suspects and Shaun were armed with guns. All three suspects fled the scene.
Montgomery was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital for the gunshot wound. The injury was not life threatening and Montgomery was listed in stable condition. The suspects were only described as black males and all three were wearing dark clothing. No other information is available at this time.
