Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators are investigating the death of an infant that occurred at an address in the 4500 block of Bishop Road. Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence at 06:32 a.m., regarding a child reported to be unresponsive.

It was reported that a five-month-old male infant was found unresponsive by the mother’s boyfriend. Emergency medical services arrived at the residence and the child was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was found near a space heater, in a room by himself.  An autopsy is scheduled to be performed.

The three adults that were in the residence with the child were taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations for questioning. They were the child’s 28-year-old mother Jalicia Kent, of Macon, her 30-year-old, boyfriend, Quantious Hodges, of Macon, and Hodges’ brother. Hodges is not the baby’s father. All the subjects live at the residence.
