Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a person down at 3565 Case Street at about 6:30AM this morning. When deputies arrived at the residence they found 30 year old LaSmockie Fountain lying in the backyard of the residence, unresponsive. It appeared that Fountain had a gunshot wound to her head. It was reported that Fountain had just arrived in Macon last night and was staying with a relative at the home on Case Street. The next of kin was notified by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators are interviewing possible witnesses and are processing evidence at the scene. Additional information on the incident will be released when it becomes available.
