The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred at 2765 Lakeshore Ave just after 03:00a.m. Sunday morning. It was reported that 37yr old Demetrice Bell and her Father 67yr old Benny Bell had gotten into an altercation when Demetrice had gotten home. During the altercation Benny retrieved a handgun. Demetrice and Benny struggled and that is when 65yr Old Thelma Bell was shot in the lower abdomen and Demetrice was shot in the chest by Mr. Bell. Demetrice was pronounced dead on scene by the Coroner’s Office. Thelma was taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center and is listed in stable condition at this time. No one else was injured in the incident. Benny was taken into custody and is being charged with aggravated assault and murder.
