The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a 4 year old male juvenile. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 1154 North Beddingfield Drive at around 7:45PM Monday night in reference to a child struck by a vehicle.
It was reported that 4 year old Josiah Hawkins got into a Chevrolet S10 Pickup that was parked in the driveway at his residence, at 1160 North Beddingfield Drive, knocked it out of park and the vehicle rolled down the driveway. As the vehicle reached the end of the driveway, Hawkins jumped out and was run over by the truck.
Hawkins was rushed to the Navicent Health Hospital by ambulance where he died a short time later. He was pronounced by doctors at the hospital according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
