Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an accident with injuries just before 12:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon that occurred on Hawkinsville Road at Avondale Mill Road. It was reported that a 2017 Freightliner Semi- Truck pulling an enclosed trailer was traveling north on Hawkinsville Road. The driver of the Freightliner’s driver, 50 year old Eric Young from Florida, reported having a green turn arrow to turn left and was making a left turn onto Avondale Mill Road. A 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Van, driven by 58 year old Raymond Waller from Macon, was traveling south on Hawkinsville Road. The Chrysler struck the Freightliner’s trailer as it was turning onto Avondale Mill Road. Waller reported having a red light at the time of the collision.

Young was not injured from the collision. There were seven passengers in the Chrysler; six were children and one adult female. The children were treated for minor injuries at the Navicent Health Hospital. The adult female passenger was also taken to the Navicent for serious injuries she sustained in the accident. She was pronounced dead at the Navicent. She was identified as 59 year old Janice Outlaw of Macon.  Next of kin was notified by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
