The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place just before 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a person shot at a residence in the 3200 block of McEvoy Drive. The victim was lying outside the residence when deputies arrived.
It was reported that the victim, 38 year old Lonnie Hicks of Milledgeville was shot once in the back. The incident did not occur at the address on McEvoy Drive. Hicks was driven there by another person after being shot. It was reported that the incident occurred at a residence in the 1600 block of Sherrill Drive.
Hicks was transported to the Navicent Center where he is undergoing surgery.
