The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Shooting incident that occurred at a house in the 3900 block of Grand Avenue this afternoon. Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the home at around 5:20PM. When deputies arrived they found a 5 year old male, who lives at the house, with a gunshot wound to the right cheek. Also at the house were the child’s father, mother, and three brothers who are ages 8, 3 and 3. It was reported that the 8 year old male accidently shot his 5 year old brother after finding the gun in the house.
The 5 year old was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injury. He is currently in surgery and listed in stable condition.
Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses. More information will be released when it is available.
