The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 6:58 p.m., at the Shell Gas Station located at 100 South Heron Street near Eisenhower Parkway.
It was reported that a 36-year-old male was fatally wounded by gunfire near the gas pumps.
Paramedics arrived at the incident location, and transported the individual to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance where he later died of his injuries.
The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation. Additional information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
