At 6:15 a.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to the theft of a vehicle, and damage to property. The incident occurred at Speir Electric Company located at 171 Spring Street.
It was reported that an individual was seen on surveillance video, breaking into the gate of the business, and stealing a white 2014 Chevrolet Silverado truck. The individual also caused damage to the fence of the business while leaving the property. A look out was given on the vehicle.
At around 8:00 a.m., an employee of Speir Electric spotted the vehicle and immediately notified the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Patrol deputies were alerted to the area and located the stolen vehicle. The driver led deputies on a brief pursuit. Deputies were able to stop the vehicle, and arrest 24-year-old Delontrez Anthony Wood.
Wood was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. He is being held on the following charges: Theft by Taking Motor Vehicle – Felony, Criminal Damage to Property (2nd Degree), Criminal Damage to Property (1st Degree), and Violation of Probation Superior Court.
