Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators made a second arrest in the fatal shooting of 24 year old Tarus Fair. During the investigation information led investigators not only to 23 year old Quintavious Hutchings of Macon, being a suspect in the shooting but also led them to 42 year old Tony Ellis as being a suspect.
Ellis came in today to meet with investigators in reference to the fatal shooting. Investigators questioned Ellis at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division. It was discovered that Tony Ellis and Quintavious Hutchings had a verbal altercation outside of 446 Cynthia Avenue. The verbal altercation led to Ellis and Hutchings engaging in a gun fight between the two. During the gunshots fired by both, at each other, the victim, Tarus Fair was struck, causing his death.
Ellis has also been charged with felony murder along with Hutchings in the death of Fair. He was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center at around 5:30PM this afternoon. He has no bond at the present time.
