Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested a 14 year old juvenile Tuesday for Robbery By Snatching and recovered the property, returning it to the owner. It was reported that the victim, Roger Hill, placed a cell phone for sale on Facebook. Hill was contacted by the suspect through Facebook and arranged to meet the suspect at a location in the 3400 block of Vineville Avenue on Tuesday. When Hill showed the phone to the suspect, the suspect snatched the phone out of Hill’s hand and fled the scene on foot.
Hill was able to provide investigators with a photograph of the suspect from Facebook. The suspect was described as a black male, light-skin, with curly hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie and bluejeans. Information during the investigation led investigators to a local elementary school, where the suspect was identified. Investigators also located the address of where the suspect lived. They went to the address, found the juvenile suspect and the cell phone that was taken. The cell phone was returned to Hill. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Macon Regional Youth Development Center.
