On Thursday, May 25, 2017 at around 10:15 p.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a theft of a vehicle. The victim, 72 year old Robert Lee Coleman, reported that his Chevrolet Astro Van was stolen from near Pansy Avenue and Elpis Street. Coleman got out of his van to ask an unknown male if he had seen his cousin. While speaking with this individual, another male jumped in the van and drove away.
On Friday at around 2:00 p.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call to respond to the Guitar Center at 4551 Billy Williamson Drive in reference to some property that two males were trying to sell at the store that was stolen from Coleman on Thursday when his van was taken. After arriving at the store the deputies made contact with the two men and took them into custody. Both suspects were transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Investigations Division to be interviewed. Coleman‘s property was returned to him.
The suspects arrested are 27 year old Japeth Akeem Williams of Macon and 23 year old Tamarrio Jarquez Young of Macon. Williams is charged with Theft By Taking and Theft By Receiving Stolen Property. He also has unrelated charges of Battery, Battery/Family Violence, Criminal Damage to Property, Burglary, State Court Bench Warrant, Failure to Appear and a Probation Violation. Young is charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. He also has two Probation Violation Charges.
