Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators make an arrest in the homicide of 24 year old Tarus Fair. During the early stages of the investigation, information led investigators to locate and question 23 year old Quintavious Hutchings of Macon.

Hutchings was interviewed by investigators and has been charged with murder. It was discovered that Hutchings fired a gun during an altercation on Cynthia Avenue last night which resulted in Fair being struck by the gunfire and causing his death. Hutchings was arrested at around 9:00AM this morning. He was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and has no bond at this time.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Fatal Shooting

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of gunshots being fired on Cynthia Avenue near Cedar Street just before 11:30PM Friday night. Just after this call came in, another call was dispatched to deputies in reference to a person dropped off at the Navicent Health Emergency Center that had been shot. The victim was brought there by an unknown person.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators were called to the 400 block of Cynthia Avenue. Several shell casings were found at the scene. It was reported that there was some type of altercation there on Cynthia Avenue prior to the shooting.

The victim is identified as 24 year old Tarus Fair, of Macon. Fair was pronounced dead at the Navicent Health Hospital. The next of kin was notified according to Assistant Bibb County Coroner Ronnie Miley.
