A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the 3000 block of Shurling Drive on Sunday, December 12, 2016 just after 8:30 p.m. Information was received of a suspicious person in the same area. Deputy Endsley saw the white male she had received the information about near the Family Dollar Store at 3002 Shurling Drive. This store had been recently burglarized. The deputy stopped and made contact with the male. She recognized his face as the face of the same person she had seen in the surveillance video footage the night the store was broken into.
The male, later identified as 41 year old Richard Wells Jr. was detained and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Investigations Office. Wells was interviewed by investigators. He was charged with Burglary and a Probation Violation. He is charged with the burglary of the Family Dollar at 3002 Shurling Drive that occurred on December 10, 2016 and the burglary of the Family Dollar at 2035 Shurling Drive that occurred on December 9, 2016. Wells was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charges. He does not have a bond set at this time.
