Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies answered the call of a man reported to be barricaded in his home and threatening to harm himself with a knife,  at 732 Granada Terrace at around 1:45p.m. Tuesday afternoon. It was reported by a family member of the man that he was upset over the death of his uncle who had died earlier today at the address from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Negotiators and the SWAT Team were called out to the address to assist in trying to get the gentleman, who was identified as 23 year old Eric Moody Jr., to come out of the house safely so he could be checked out by medical personnel. Negotiators attempted to establish contact with Moody to get him to come out of the home. After several attempts to talk Moody out of the home, the SWAT Team deployed gas into the home, also in attempts to get Moody to surrender and come out. Moody did surrender and come out of the home without any harm. He was taken to the Navicent Health Hospital by ambulance to be checked. There are no charges against Moody at this time.
