Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person cut at 1567 Wellworth Avenue just after 8:00 p.m. Friday night. When deputies arrived they found 31 year old Calvin Fleming lying in the street with multiple lacerations on his body. It was reported that Fleming was having a verbal altercation with another man in the front yard of 1567 Wellworth Avenue. Fleming left the yard and got into his vehicle attempting to leave. The suspect had retrieved a machete, pulled Fleming from his car and struck him in the head with the machete and on his body several times. The suspect fled the scene on foot before deputies arrived.
Fleming was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is listed in critical condition.
