Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a residential burglary in progress at 6103 Fountain Drive at around 1:00PM today. It was reported that the victim who is the homeowner at the Fountain Drive address came home to find the suspect known as Kareem Vontez Zellner , 18 years old of Macon, coming out of the front door of the victim’s home carrying what appeared to be a black bag. The victim confronted Zellner as he started running away from the residence.

 

The victim chased Zellner on foot to a home in the 1000 block of Alma Drive where Zellner ran into the home. Bibb Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with the victim outside the address on Alma Drive. As the suspect was still inside the home, deputies went into the home and apprehended Zellner. He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Investigations Office to be interviewed.

 

Prior to the capture of the suspect, schools in the area were notified by the Bibb Sheriff’s Office as a precautionary measure. Once the suspect was apprehended and it was clear no other suspects were involved, the schools were notified.

 

Zellner was charged with burglary and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. His bond is set at $8,450.00.
