Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a residential burglary in progress at 1343 Carling Avenue just after 12:15PM today. When deputies got to the home they made contact with the victim. It was reported by the victim, who is the homeowner, was at home when she heard a noise that sounded like breaking glass. She grabbed a baseball bat and went to see what the noise was and saw a black male, who she did not recognize, in her home. The unknown male ran out of the house towards Montpelier Avenue.

 

Deputies began canvassing the area looking for the suspect. It was discovered through the initial investigation a possible identity of the suspect and a location where he may be. Deputies went to an address in the 1500 block of Duncan Avenue where they located and detained a suspect. The suspect, identified as 19 year old Anthony Wood was taken to the Bibb Sheriff’s Property Investigations Office to be interviewed. Wood was charged with burglary. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex and booked on the burglary charge. He has a bond of $8,450.00.
