Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a driver of a 1994 Honda Accord this morning after a brief pursuit. It was reported that at around 10:30AM a deputy observed the Honda run through the intersection of Flamingo Drive and Villa Crest Avenue without stopping at the stop sign and almost striking some construction workers in the area. The deputy initiated a traffic stop but the driver of the Honda refused to stop.

 

During the pursuit the Honda made a right turn onto Rockycreek Road from Houston Avenue and struck a 2000 Mazda Pickup Truck driven by Reginald Summerford of Macon. The Mazda was traveling in the eastbound lane of Rockycreek Road. No one was seriously injured in the accident. The passenger of the Mazda, Yolanda Summerford complained of an injury. The Georgia State Patrol is working that accident. At one point the suspect attempted to strike a Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Car but the deputy was able to avoid the collision. The pursuit ended in the 1100 block of Triple Hill Drive in an abandoned apartment complex. The driver of the Honda, 21 year old Shawn Jeremiah Robinson of Macon was apprehended at the scene. He is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, aggressive driving and a probation violation on an unrelated charge. Robinson is currently booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. His bond is set at $3,600.00.
