Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 4652 Ayers Road, Covenant Academy, in reference to a burglary just before 6:00AM Sunday morning. While responding to the address, deputies received information that lawn equipment was being taken from the school and that someone with the school was on the way to meet with deputies. It was discovered that some of the equipment had a tracking device attached.
While searching the area nearby, deputies found a plastic cover that possibly came from a piece of lawn equipment, on Ayers Road at George Street. Deputies continued searching the area and found a lawnmower outside a home in the 4300 block of Ayers Road. Further investigation into the incident led to the discovery of items inside the home on Ayers Road that were taken in the burglary. Four suspects were taken into custody from the residence and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Investigations Office to be questioned. They were identified as 26 year old Kalvin Bland, of Macon, 18 year old Anthony Whitehead, of Macon, 25 year old Kelvin Carswell, of Macon and 45 year old Quinton Lewis Sr., of Macon.
All four men were charged with burglary and criminal damage to property and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Whitehead and Carswell each have a bond set at $10,850.00. Bland has no bond set at this time. He also has a probation violation charge. Lewis also has no bond set at this time.
