Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call at around 3:20 p.m. in reference to a man carrying a gun and firing shots in a neighborhood on Ross Street. When the first deputy arrived, she saw the man, later identified as 41 year old Reginald Wilmore, walking between the house he lives in at 956 Ross Street and the house next door. Wilmore turned and fired some shots in the opposite direction of the deputy. The deputy moved back to a safe area where she could keep an eye on Wilmore and the house until other deputies arrived.
Wilmore went into the house at 956 Ross Street. Deputies cordoned off the streets around the 900 block of Ross Street. Hostage Negotiators and the SWAT Team from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene. Negotiators were finally able to establish some contact with Wilmore and talked him into surrendering. The SWAT Team moved towards the house and took Wilmore into custody as he walked to the front to come out. No one was injured during the incident. Wilmore was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division to be interviewed.
