A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling in the area of Edna Place Road near Napier Avenue on Friday morning at around 3:00 a.m. when he spotted a vehicle that is possibly involved with some recent commercial burglaries and attempted commercial burglaries. The vehicle, an older model white Oldsmobile Cutlass, attempted to elude the deputy after he attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle finally stopped on Sharon Drive at Hallwood Circle after a brief chase. All occupants in the vehicle jumped out and ran. Other deputies arrived at the scene to assist in the search of the suspects. Two of the four suspects that were in the vehicle were caught.

One of the suspect’s, identified as 33 year old Donovan Lee Green, was caught near the vehicle. Another suspect, a black male juvenile, was caught a short time later also near the vehicle, hiding in some bushes. Both were transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Crimes Investigations Office. Green was charged with two counts of Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary and two counts of Burglary. The locations where the incidents took place were Walthall Convenience Store at 4433 Forsyth Road, Just Right Barber Shop at 3451 Log Cabin Drive and Family Dollar at 2035 Shurling Drive. The Walthall Store was an attempted burglary on two different dates. Green was also charged with one count of Willful Obstruction, one count of Attempting to Flee and Elude a Law Enforcement Officer and two counts of Violation of Probation. He remains in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without a bond.

The male juvenile was charged with one count of Theft by Receiving and one count of Criminal Street Gang Activity. He was transported to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center where he is being held.

These incidents and suspects are still being investigation. Information on the other two suspects that were in the vehicle is not available at this time.
