Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a male victim robbed on Fairburn Drive near Lamont Street at around 5:20 p.m. Sunday afternoon. It was reported that the 53 year old victim was walking to a house on Lamont Street when he was approached by what appeared to be three black males in a blue Honda. The subjects in the Honda called him over to the vehicle. When he approached the vehicle, two of the occupants got out of the vehicle and grabbed him. One of the suspects pointed a gun at him while taking his wallet from his pocket and some change. The suspects tossed his ID back to him and drove away.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnson saw a vehicle fitting the description of the suspect vehicle on Rocky Drive near Edna Place Road soon after the robbery had occurred. The deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief vehicle pursuit. The vehicle ended up at the dead-end of Scotland Avenue and all three suspects jumped out of the vehicle, fleeing on foot. All three suspects were captured and taken to the Criminal Investigations Division to be questioned.
The suspects were identified as 18 year old male – Traquan Paris Smith, 19 year old female – Tanaizah Alliah Thornton and a 16 year old male juvenile. After being questioned Smith and Thornton were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The juvenile was transported to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center. Smith was charged with armed robbery, fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and violation of probation. No bond has been set for Smith. Thornton was charged with armed robbery on this incident. She also had warrants for her arrest on an unrelated incident for aggravated assault, criminal trespass and a State Court Bench Warrant. Her bond is set at $18,650.00. The male juvenile is charged with armed robbery.
