Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a residential burglary at 1086 Clinton Road, Highland Woods Apartments at around 7:15PM Sunday, January 10th. The resident of an apartment in the complex told deputies that her apartment had been broken into and several items were taken from the apartment. Damage to the apartment had also occurred. The suspect(s) had fled the scene before the victim had arrived back to her apartment.

Deputies received a second call just after 8:00PM from the same apartment complex, at another apartment in reference to a fight. When deputies arrived at the apartment they discovered that the victim of the burglary had gone over to one of the other apartments to make contact with the tenant. Two females answered the door and that is when the victim of the burglary saw some items that belonged to her, inside the apartment. As deputies were talking with the victim and the two female occupants in the apartment, they found two unknown males also in the apartment. One of the males was hiding under a cabinet in the kitchen. The male in the cabinet was identified as 18 year old Deiondre Howard, from Macon. Howard had warrants for his arrest for Theft by Shoplifting and Simple Battery. The other male was identified as 23 year old Darius Johnson also from Macon.

Both Howard and Johnson were placed under arrest and taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Investigations Office for questioning. Both were charged with Burglary and taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Johnson has a bond set at $8,450.00 and remains in the Bibb LEC. Howard was also charged with 6 counts of Shoplifting from previous cases and 1 count of Simple Battery. Howard is also charged with a Probation Violation. He has a bond amount of $14,200.00 and he also remains in the Bibb LEC. The items found in the apartment, belonging to the victim were returned to her. The two females were questioned but have not been charged at this time.
