Bibb County Sheriff’s Corrections Deputy Arrested
A Bibb County Sheriff’s Correction’s Deputy was arrested Friday evening on the charge of Aggravated Assault – Family Violence. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the residence of 44 year old, Corrections Deputy Tavy Knowlton Sr. this afternoon just after 2:00PM in reference to a domestic dispute incident. When deputies arrived they spoke to Knowlton’s spouse. It was reported that she and Knowlton had been arguing today. That’s when Knowlton went and got a pistol from the bedroom and started waving it around, making threats to harm her. Knowlton had left the residence before deputies arrived.
Deputies made contact with Knowlton. He was detained and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation’s Division where he was questioned by investigators. After interviewing Knowlton, he was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charge of Aggravated Assault – Family Violence. He has no bond set at this time.
Knowlton is on administrative leave pending the completion of an Internal Affairs Investigation.
