Bibb County Sheriff David Davis promoted the following deputies in his office on Thursday. A total of fifteen deputies moved up in the ranks.
Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said, “These promotions represent the first installment of replacements for many of the deputies who participated in the county’s early retirement incentive program last year. These deputies were chosen from a roster of competent law enforcement professionals. I am confident these fine officers will form the next generation of command leadership at the sheriff’s office.”
The following deputies were promoted from the rank of Captain to the rank of Major, effective Thursday, August 25, 2016.
- Captain Billy Johnson was promoted to Major. He will be in command of the Sheriff’s Outreach Section.
- Captain Greg Rachel was promoted to Major. He will be in command of the Office of Professional Standards.
- Captain Michael Schlageter was promoted to Major. He will be in command of the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Captain Eric Walker was promoted to Major. He will be in command of the Patrol Division.
- Captain Eric Woodford was promoted to Major. He will be in command of the Court Services Division.
The following deputies were promoted from the rank of Lieutenant to the rank of Captain, effective Thursday, August 25, 2016.
- Lieutenant Michael Bittick was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of the Forensics Division of Criminal Investigations.
- Lieutenant David Freeland was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of Training Operations.
- Lieutenant Jermaine Gray was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of the Properties Section of Criminal Investigations.
- Lieutenant Shermaine Jones was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of the Persons, Crimes Against Children, and Sex Offender Sections of Criminal Investigations.
- Lieutenant George Meadows was promoted to Captain. He will be second in command of the Sheriff’s Outreach Section.
- Lieutenant Chris C. Patterson was promoted to Captain. He will be second in command of the Office of Professional Standards.
- Lieutenant Ellis Sinclair was promoted to Captain. He will be second in command of the Court Services Division.
- Lieutenant Robert Spires was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of the Warrants Division.
- Lieutenant Brad Wolfe was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of Patrol Operations.
- Lieutenant Keith Woodford was promoted to Captain. He will be in charge of Patrol Administration.
