The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred around 9:45a.m. Thursday morning at the State Bank and Trust, located at 3945 Pio Nono Avenue. It was reported that a black male suspect entered the bank, wrote a note on a deposit slip and handed it to the bank teller. The teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect walked out of the bank and fled on foot towards Rice Mill Road. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, around 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches in height. He has a “dreadlock” hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a reddish plaid colored shirt and blue short pants, with a silver design running down each leg. The suspect also had on sunglasses, a black knit hat and black and white colored “Air Jordan” shoes.  *Several photos of the suspect are attached to this media release….

Investigators are interviewing witnesses who were inside of the bank at the time of the incident. Crime Scene Investigators are processing the scene for evidence. Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies are also canvasing the adjacent neighborhood, looking for the suspect.
