Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to an attempted Commercial Armed Robbery that took place at the Dollar General Store located at 4996 Bloomfield Road at around 10:30PM last night. It was reported that a black male dressed in all black with his face partially covered, walked up to the front doors of the store brandishing a handgun in his right hand and what appeared to be a white bag in his left hand. The doors were locked as the store was closed.  One of the stores employees was standing just inside the front doors. The suspect was demanding the employee to open the front doors.  As the employee moved away from the door the suspect fired two shots at the door, shattering the glass. The suspect was unable to enter the store. He turned away from the front doors and fled on foot from the business.

There were a total of 4 employees in the store at the time of the incident. Three of the employees ran to the back office and locked themselves in the office. The fourth employee hid in the back corner of the store until deputies arrived on the scene. No further information is available at this time. No one was injured during the incident.
