Bibb County deputies responded to 2980 Markingham Drive at 9:24 p.m. in reference to serving an aggravated stalking warrant.
It was reported that Bibb County deputies were contacted by the Peach County Sheriff’s Office in reference to two aggravated stalking incidents that occurred earlier on February 27, 2020 in Peach County. Peach County asked Bibb County to assist with serving their warrant for aggravated stalking, along with Bibb County’s warrant for aggravated stalking. The warrant for Bibb County was issued on February 24, 2020.
When deputies arrived at the home of Lake William Greene III, Greene barricaded himself inside his house and refused to come out. Negotiators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office were notified and came out to speak with Greene. Greene declined all communication with negotiators and continued to refuse to come out of his home.
The Bibb County S.W.A.T. Team was then contacted and responded to the location. Negotiators continued to make contact with Greene and he continued to refuse to speak with negotiators. After three hours of attempted negotiations, the S.W.A.T. Team made entry into the home, and Green then fatally shot himself.
No one else was inside of the house during this incident. No one else was injured during the incident.
