Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in helping to locate 19-year-old Brian Latrell Colbert Jr., of Macon. Colbert is wanted in connection to the death investigation of 50-year-old, Brian Matthew Brown, that occurred on November 26, 2023, in the 100 block of Lokchapee Landing.

Investigators have issued warrants for Colbert arrest. Brian Latrell Colbert Jr. is five-foot-five inches tall and weighs approximately one hundred and twenty pounds. Colbert Jr. is known to frequent the Pleasant Hill and Houston Ave area.

Arrest Made in Death Investigation on Lokchapee Landing

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office makes an arrest in connection with the death investigation on Lokchapee Landing. On January 31, 2024, just before 4:30 p.m., a person of interest was transported from Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit to the RYDC. The person of interest is identified as a sixteen-year-old male from Macon. He faces a charge of Murder, in connection with the death of 50-year-old Brian Matthew Brown, which occurred on November 26, 2023.

He also faces three counts of aggravated assault in an Aggravated assault incident that occurred on January 11, 2024, in the 3800 block of Tela Place.

Death Investigation on Lokchapee Landing

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the 100 block of Lokchapee Landing just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Deputies responded to Lokchapee Landing in reference to a person shot.  Upon arrival deputies found a 50-year-old male later identified as Brian Matthew Brown, suffering from a single gunshot wound.   Brown was later pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. The next of kin has been notified.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are still determining what led up to the shooting. Brown will be sent for an autopsy.
