The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “Hit and Run” accident, involving a pedestrian, that took place on October 8, 2020 at around 7:22 p.m.  The incident occurred in the 2500 block of Rocky Creek Road.

It was reported that 17-year-old Brian Thomas of Macon, was walking with a relative. The two were walking on the sidewalk that is located next to Rocky Creek Road. A witness stated that the driver of a Chevrolet van jumped the curb behind the two men and struck Thomas. The van did not stop and was last seen traveling south on Rocky Creek Road.  Thomas was transported to the Navicent hospital by ambulance and has since been released. 

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office traffic investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in helping locate the van that was involved in this accident. The vehicle is described as aChevrolet van, black in color. There should be damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.  A picture of the van is attached to this media release.
