Aggravated Assault Investigation
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating an aggravated assault that was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 1:15 p.m.
It was reported that a male was shot in the back of the leg while on Churchill Street, by a male that was in a gray colored BMW. The male in the BMW fled the scene after the incident occurred.
The male victim that was reported shot went to his home on Earnest Street. Law enforcement and EMS were called to his residence on Earnest Street, but family members decided to transport the male victim to the hospital by personal vehicle. The male is listed to be in stable condition.
A second call came in at 1:38 p.m. of a personal armed robbery at the Direct Auto Sales, located at the corner of Brookdale Avenue and Vineville Avenue. The caller stated that a male, driving a gray colored BMW had a flat tire and pulled onto Brookdale Avenue, directly across the street from the Direct Auto Sales. The male walked over to the auto sales parking lot and brandished a firearm towards a male that was doing some business in the parking lot. The armed male jumped into a red in colored 2007 Ford F150, with a camper shell and fled the parking lot. No one was injured during this incident.
Once deputies found that the suspect that was involved in this incident matched the same description of the male involved in the aggravated assault on Churchill Street, investigators were contacted about the incidents possibly being related.
Investigators were given a description of the suspect as a black male wearing a white t-shirt. The male had shoulder length dreads. The male was last seen leaving the parking lot of the Direct Auto Sales parking lot on Vineville Avenue. The red colored Ford F150 was reported to have a Georgia Tag display of PDF4039.
