At 1:06 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an individual with a weapon making threats to harm himself, or possibly others at a residence located at the 100 block of Ashford Park.
As deputies arrived on the scene, gunshots were heard from the backyard of the residence. Deputies called for backup and notified neighboring child care facilities, and day schools of the incident so that they could activate safety protocols.
It was reported that a male, in his late 30’s, was grieving from some recent losses, and it was also stated that he was depressed. Although the male refused to come out of the home, deputies were able to make continuous contact to get him help.
At around 4:45 p.m., deputies were able to talk the male out of the home, without incident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There are currently no charges and no one was injured during the incident.
