Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies made two arrests Thursday afternoon on a personal armed robbery incident that occurred Wednesday morning. Deputies responded to a call of a robbery at the Magnolia Court Motel located at 4739 Houston Road just before 7:00AM Wednesday morning. It was reported that the female victim was at the motel visiting a friend when a male known as Bubba and an unknown female came over to the motel.  The victim said her friend had left for work when the male and female suspect came to the motel room. The victim said shortly after the two suspects arrived, the female suspect went outside and the male suspect went into the bathroom. When the male suspect exited the bathroom, he asked the victim for her money. He displayed a gun and demanded money from her. The male suspect also struck the victim in the head with the gun. The male suspect took the victims cash, pre-paid cards and her ID. Both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle described as possibly a 4-door Nissan Sentra. A description of the suspects and vehicle were given out on a BOLO. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her injury and released.

Thursday afternoon Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies assigned to the District 2 area received information which led them to the suspects. Amber Leigh Abney, 23 years old of Macon and Jeffery Lamar Rainey, 30 years old of Macon were located at a home in the 4700 block of Houston Avenue. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Bibb Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division. Abney and Rainey were charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. They were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex and booked on the charges. No bond has been set for Abney or Rainey.
