Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators along with Patrol deputies arrested a Macon man in connection to the death of 52-year-old Artice Pettigrew on December 24, 2023.
Sheriff’s Investigators were able to connect 46-year-old Ladonta Lamont Solomon to the shooting death of Pettigrew. Solomon was taken into custody without incident on December 24, 2023, just before 10:00 p.m. and was transported to the Bibb County Jail where he is being held without bond.
Investigators also arrested 70-year-old Charles Edward Solomon and 25-year-old Tyric Deonte Solomon. They were both charged with Concealing the Death of Another. Both Charles and Tyric hid the body of Pettigrew from authorities after he was shot by Ladonte. Both are being held without bond in the Bibb County Jail.

Death Investigation on Fort Hill Street
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the 1300 block of Fort Hill Street, on December 23, 2023, just before 2:00 p.m.
Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1300 block of Fort Hill Street regarding a person shot on December 23, 2023. Upon arrival at the location, deputies made contact with subjects in the area and were advised that there were no shots fired in this area. Deputies checked the area and did not see any signs of an altercation.
On December 24, 2023, just before 07:00 a.m. the E911 Center started getting calls from anonymous sources giving minimal information as to what happened and where the victim was. Deputies were sent to multiple locations and talked to subjects. Deputies received information that the victim, 52-year-old Artice Pettigrew’s body was hidden in the back of a vehicle at a residence in the 1300 block of Fort Hill Street. Investigators along with Patrol deputies returned to the address in the 1300 block of Fort Hill Street just after 1:00 p.m. and were able to locate the victim.
There is no information on the suspect currently. No one else was injured during the incident. Next of kin has been notified per Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.
