Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies make arrests in connection with a Commercial Burglary Investigation.
On January 23, 2024, at 9:06 a.m., a call came into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center reporting two men breaking into a warehouse at California Cereal Products at 4375 Mead Road. Patrol deputies responded to the area to investigate. While in the area, it was reported the suspects had fled the scene into a wooded area. A patrol sergeant pursued the suspects. During the search, footprints were traced to one of the suspects who was discovered to be armed with a handgun. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The second suspect was found hiding inside a sewer. Deputies apprehended the second suspect and paramedics responded to provide medical treatment due to a complaint.
The suspects apprehended were identified as thirty-seven-year-old Joseph Seth Sheriff and fifty-six-year-old Johnny Frank Larson. Sheriff was transported to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters for further investigation. Larson was transported to Atrium Navicent Health to be treated.
Joseph Seth Sheriff and Johnny Frank Larson were then transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
Joseph Seth Sheriff faces charges of First-Degree Burglary, Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime, Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Probation Violation. He was also wanted in Houston County. Johnny Frank Larson faces charges of Second-Degree Burglary and Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime.
Both Sheriff and Larson are denied bond.
