On July 8, 2023, at 9:47a.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to the 4500 block of Shadow Lawn Drive in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival it was reported four juvenile males wearing dark clothing opened fire on the residence and fled the scene. No one inside the residence was harmed. Deputies recovered evidence of the shooting and an investigation began.

On July 12, 2023, just before 6:00a.m., Deputies responded to the Ayers Road area in reference to reports of juvenile males standing in the road, attempting to stop motorists as they approached. One citizen reported once their vehicle was stopped, multiple juveniles emerged from the nearby wood line, brandishing firearms. No one was reported harmed. Deputies were continuing their investigation, when a call for shots fired were reported inside the 4500 block of Bon Ayer Circle, and the 4600 block of Shadow Lawn Drive. It was reported that vehicles were damaged in the area but no one in the residential area was reported injured.

During the investigation, deputies discovered the possible suspects were located near the 4600 block of Lakewood Avenue. Deputies discovered multiple shell casings in the front of a residence in the area, consistent with those of the shooting incident on Shadow Lawn Drive on July 8, 2023. Contact was made with the occupants of the residence in question. Deputies identified seventeen-year-old Jeremiah Quintezz McCrary as a suspect. Three fifteen-year-old male juveniles and one fourteen-year-old male juvenile were also identified as suspects. All suspects were detained pending the investigation. Deputies recovered three handguns, an AR-15 rifle with an attached drum, marijuana, scales, counterfeit bills, extended magazines, and additional boxes of ammunition consistent with evidence found outside the residence and evidence from the shooting incident on July 8, 2023.

Jeremiah Quintezz McCrary was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. All four juvenile males were transported to the Macon Regional Youth Development Center. All suspects are charged with Possession of handgun by a minor, Discharge of weapon on or near public highway or street, Possession of drug related objects, Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Forgery, and Reckless conduct with a firearm. Additional charges are pending.
