Three suspects were taken into custody in connection to the March 27th Armed Robbery of the Waffle House, located at 5440 Bowman Road.

 During the course of the investigation into the Waffle House armed robbery, investigators spoke with the Waffle House Corporate Office and discovered that these three individuals were possibly involved in seven other armed robberies of Waffle Houses, located throughout the state of Georgia.  Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators contacted members of the F.B.I., (Federal Bureau of Investigation) for assistance in enhancing the video evidence from the Bowman Road armed robbery.

After having the video footage enhanced, the three suspects were identified, and Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators had warrants issued for their arrests.

Two of the suspects were taken into custody in Clayton County, by members of the F.B.I., on Friday.  The third suspect was located on Interstate 475 after a tip was received that he would be traveling through Bibb County. Members of the Bibb Sheriff’s Special Response Team, Patrol Division, Investigations Division, and members from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force were able to take the third suspect into custody, without incident.

While the suspects were being interviewed, it was discovered that all three were employees of a Waffle House, located in Clayton County.

 All three suspects are currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond. The three suspects are listed below.

Johnny Leon Anthony, age 27, from Riverdale, Georgia. He is charged with Armed Robbery. (taken into custody in Clayton County)

Darien Jermaine Anthony, age 25, also from Riverdale, Georgia. (Jermaine Anthony is the brother of Johnny Anthony). He is charged with Armed Robbery. He also has a “Hold” for warrants from Monroe County. (taken into custody in Bibb County)

Myia Lasheay Thompson, age 20, from Jonesboro, Georgia. Thompson is charged with Armed Robbery. (taken into custody in Clayton County)

Commercial Armed Robbery on Bowman Road

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the Waffle House, located at 5440 Bowman Road. The incident occurred at around 3:20 a.m., Friday morning.

According to witness statements, three unknown suspects entered the restaurant, two of the suspects were brandishing handguns. One of the employees was told to get on the floor, the second suspect was in the restroom at the time of the incident.

The suspects took money from the cash register and from the office. Once the suspects received an undisclosed amount of cash, they fled through the rear door of the restaurant and then ran in an unknown direction. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspects were wearing all black clothing and had on facial coverings.
