Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies made two arrests on a commercial armed robbery incident that occurred this morning. Deputies responded to a call at the Citgo Gas & Food Mart, 1803 Pionono Avenue, just before 8:30 a.m. It was reported that two black male suspects entered the store. One subject stood at the door while the other one grabbed beer and food items before exiting the store. The clerk tried to stop the suspects and one of the suspects displayed a gun and pointed it at the clerk. Both suspect’s faces were covered.

The two suspects were seen running out of the store then into a house on Daffodil Street. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies went to the house and spoke with a resident of the house. Deputies checked the inside of the home after receiving permission from the individual who lived there. Deputies find some items including the weapon that was used in the robbery. Through further investigation the suspects were located at a house in the 400 block of Poppy Avenue. Stolen items from the store were also found at the location. The suspects were identified as 18 year old Willie Johnson III, of Macon and 22 year old Larry Donnell Clay Jr., of Macon.

Johnson and Clay were taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division for questioning. Both were charged with armed robbery and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. No bond has been set.
