Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 23 year old Damien Fryer, of Macon, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at around 9:20PM.  Fryer was wanted in connection with an aggravated assault incident that occurred in front of Youngs Grocery on Monday, August 24, 2015. Fryer is the fourth to be arrested in connection with the incident.  Fryer was arrested at the Triangle Package Store located at 3564 Napier Avenue, after Bibb County Deputies were dispatched there in reference to shoplifting. Fryer was shoplifting items from the store.  In relation to the aggravated assault, he is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, criminal street gang activity and 2 counts of obstruction of a law enforcement officer. In relation to the incident November 21st, Fryer is charged with shoplifting, possession of marijuana and a probation violation. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charges. No bond has been set for Fryer.

 

It was reported on August 24, 2015 at around 12:10AM, shots were fired at Youngs Grocery located at 2760 Montpelier Avenue. A description of the vehicle the suspect(s) were riding in was given in a lookout within minutes of the incident. Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators assisting in responding to the incident location, located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle within minutes on Grosso Avenue at Mercer University Drive. The vehicle stopped on Woodard Avenue at Sapp Street after a brief chase. Two suspects ran from the vehicle into the woods. Two other suspects were still in the vehicle and were detained by investigators.  The two detained were identified as 21 year old Donte Andrews, of Macon and 25 year old Dontavis Jackson, of Macon. Both suspects were transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division to be questioned. Jackson was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and criminal street gang activity. He also had a probation violation warrant for his arrest. Andrews was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and criminal street gang activity. Both were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charges. Both currently remain in jail with a bond each of $22,200.00. Fortunately no one was injured by the gunfire during the incident.

 

As investigators followed leads during the investigation of the case a third arrest was made on October 5, 2015. Rodney Roquemore Jr., of Macon turned himself in to Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators and was arrested in connection with this incident. He was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer, criminal street gang activity and a probation violation warrant. He currently remains in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center with a bond of $22,200.00.
