Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 17 year old Rayshad Demonte Durham, of Macon, on Tuesday afternoon just before 2:00PM. Durham was involved in a shooting incident on Monday, December 14, 2015 where 16 year old Jacques Houston, of Macon, was shot in his home located in Lake Wildwood. Durham was charged with aggravated assault and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He has a bond set at $16,700.00. Durham currently remains in the Bibb LEC.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call of a person shot at a home in the 1100 block of Ataghi Trail on Monday just after 3:30PM. When deputies arrived they found the victim, Houston lying on the floor inside the residence along with others inside the home. Houston was transported to the Navicent Health by ambulance to be treated for the gunshot wound. He was taken into surgery and is listed in stable condition.
It was reported that during the initial investigation other people in the home at the time of the shooting were telling deputies they did not know who had shot Houston. As investigators continued the investigation and interviewed possible witnesses, including Durham, it was discovered that Durham had shot Houston with a 12 gauge shotgun.
