Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators make an arrest in the shooting at Solo Convenience Store located at 4555 Mercer University Drive. On Wednesday afternoon, after the shooting at the Solo Convenience store, Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies received information from the Macon-Bibb 911 Dispatch that a person involved in the shooting incident was at the District 2 Patrol Office and wanted to turn himself in. Investigators met with two males at the patrol office. They were both transported to the Criminal Investigations Division to be interviewed. They were identified as 27 year old Anthony Brown and 21 year old Franklin Bowdry.
During the interviews it was learned that Bowdry and one of the victim’s, Kentarious Bush, had got into a fight several weeks ago and Bush had beat up Bowdry. The incident was never reported by Bowdry. Today while at the gas pumps of the Solo Convenience Store, Bowdry saw Bush. Bush came over towards the vehicle, a 1999 Lincoln Towncar, in which Bowdry was a passenger. It was reported that Bush had made no threats to Bowdry at the time. Bowdry fired shots at Bush, striking him and 47 year old Reginald Raines. Raines did not have anything to do with the incident.
Bowdry was charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and a probation violation. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Bond is set at $39,100.00. Anthony Brown was released after being interviewed.
The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
