The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children investigators make an arrest in a sex trafficking incident.

The incident was reported to have occurred 2016 through 2018. It was reported that the female victim was 14-years-old when the incidents began. The victim was reported to have been sexually exploited by 52-year-old Derrick Dewayne Sallette, of Macon. It was reported that Sallette would take the female to local hotels, and would photograph and sexually assault her.

The victim currently came forward to report this incident after Sallette recently made contact with her. Sallette threatened to post past pictures of her on the internet, if she would not allow him to take more pictures of her.

On March 9, 2020, a search warrant was executed on Derrick Dwayne Sallette at his home and he was taken into custody. Sallette was taken to the investigations office to be interviewed and then transported to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center and charged with, Trafficking of a Person for Sexual Servitude, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, Rape and two counts of Aggravated Child Molestation.

Sallette does not have a bond.
