Bibb County Crimes Against Children Investigators arrested 32- year-old Traveshia Natoya Ivory for one count of Cruelty to Children in the 2nd degree, in the February 5, 2020 incident.  

It was reported that Ivory’s five-year-old son and six-year-old son found a handgun inside the home, and it was accidentally discharged striking the six-year-old in the upper shoulder. Ivory has a bond set at $5,700.00.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies Responded To A Person Shot

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home in the 2700 block of Heaton Drive  just before 7:00 p.m. in reference to a person shot. When deputies arrived they found a six-year-old male, with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

It was reported that the six-year-old male victim and his five-year-old brother were playing with a handgun that they found in their home. While playing with the gun the five-year-old accidentally shot his brother while handling the gun. He was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for his injury. He is listed in stable condition and the injury is reported to be non-life threatening. No one else was injured during the incident.
