The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting that occurred at 1132 Macon Ave. Deputies responded to the address around1:03am Saturday morning after receiving a call from 45-year-old Donna Jackson stating she had shot her boyfriend in self-defense. Deputies arrived at the address and found 53-year-old Ricky Smith suffering from one gunshot wound to the left side of the chest. Smith was transported to the Navicent Center where he was pronounced dead by doctors. Donna Jackson was taken to the Detective Bureau to be interviewed about the incident. Jackson was transported to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center on charges of murder. This incident is currently under investigation.
